When is the best time of day to spot the barn swallows?

Journal Admin · September 2, 2026

Barn swallows can be spotted earliest in the day and right before the sun sets! They can get overheated quickly, but on a good cool day you can spot them skimming water on Kingswood Lake!

Is the snapping turtle near Kingswood Lake dangerous to approach?

QA Tester · September 2, 2026

Give it plenty of space — at least a few meters. Snapping turtles are calm in water but can lunge on land. Never pick one up; admire it from the path and log a sighting instead!
